I absolutely love being outside. When looking through old photos from spring and summer. These are quite fun to look at.
Fiddle head ferns. They baby ferns are tasty when picked, cleaned then sauted in a pan with melted butter, salt & pepper and garlic. Yummy!
Wild Currants. They are a favorite as well and there you can see their cluster of interesting blooms that will be ruby berries.
We grew up calling them Conks, but the real name is bears bread and is a fungus that grows through the bark of trees. They are often collected, dried and artist will paint or burn images into them. They are very neat.
The delicate blossoms of lowbush cranberries and the lovely Lupine.
Monkshood. These flowers are so beautiful but also extremely poisonous.
Ahhh...yes it looks like a brain. It is a brain mushroom, Gyromitra esculenta also known as false morel. They are also potentially fatal.
